Healing Is A Challenge!
Healing or any other blessing that God has available for us to use comes
with a challenge for us to walk in them. Satan will use fear of men, unbelief
and doubt to get us to lay aside our benefits and walk in defeat.
In Psalm 105 the psalmist runs through a short history of God's dealings with
some of His enemies who came against Israel. Take a look at Psalm 105 vs
24 and 25.
Psalm 105:24-25 And the Lord made his people very fruitful
and made them stronger than their foes.
He turned their hearts to hate his people,
to deal craftily with his servants.
Notice God made His people stronger than their and His enemies and then He
let their jealousy turn their hearts to hate His people. Then as His people
put faith in Him he can defeat those enemies - His grace operating through
their faith.
The God of the bible, Jehovah, is Almighty and could defeat His enemies with
a flick of His little finger. A fight against God would not be a contest! The
reason why there is evil in the world is that God gave men (through Adam)
dominion on the Earth and God wanted His enemies defeated by His people
who put faith in Him.
This applies to us today also. Remember that God has said that He will not
allow His people to be tested beyond what they are able to bear? That is a
promise. He makes His people stronger that their enemies before He
lets the foe have access to attack them! We have to recognize this and put
faith in God throughout the trial.
We can look at what the psalmist said about Joseph in Egypt.
Psalm 105:18-19 His feet were hurt with fetters;
his neck was put in a collar of iron;
until what he had said came to pass,
the word of the Lord tested him.
This is how the trials that we might face seem to us. We say, for instance,
that "we undersand through God's word that all believers are to 'heal the sick'".
Well until that word is proven to be true in us, "that word of the Lord" will
be tested in us to see if we keep on believing in it!
This is to prove that a Christian is not subject to Satan's kingdom unless
they are unaware of their priveledges and let him have power over them.
Satan works by deception so if he deceives you into giving him your authority -
he'll take it!
But Jesus said believers would lay hands on the sick and they would recover. He did
not say, "Fingers crossed"! He said, 'they "would" recover'. Satan does not
have dominion over us Christians.
We have to realize it though or we won't walk in it! By the way, right from
'Old testament' times, God has let us know that healing is
there for those who put faith in Him. Let's take a look at Proverbs 4, verse 22
to see this fact.
Pro 4:22 For they (God's words) are life to those who find them,
and healing to all their flesh.
Notice how Solomon tels us that God's word is health to all our flesh. And in the
New Testament Jesus tells us this ...
John 14:12 "I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done,
and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father".
So let's believe Jesus; live in His presence; and trust in Him to do through us
all the things (including healing) He did and even greater things than He did
when He was on earth. Jesus said it, so it's a promise. In fact God's word is
a covenant!
Psa 37:3-5 Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.
Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.
Best wishes for Grace and the Peace of Jesus.
